Symptoms
Diarrhea or watery stools, blood in the stool, straining to defecate, urgency to defecate, frequent defecation,
Colitis is inflammation of the colon.
Colitis is known by other names which sometimes lead to
confusion in terms of the problem and how to deal with it..
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is the more popular label but has also been known as ‘mucous colitis’ and ‘spastic colon’
The actual cause is unknown but the general consensus is that poor quality ingredients in food, parasites and food intolerance are to blame. The blood comes from inflammation of the colon while the watery stools arise from the inability of the colon to reabsorb water
